The Museum of London tells the story of London and its people. One of the main attractions in our permanent galleries is the Pleasure Gardens, an immersive space inspired by the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens in its heyday. The gallery includes twelve mannequins dressed in spectacular men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories from the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Due to the age and fragility of these rare items of clothing, we need to rotate and replace them with other objects from our Dress, Textiles and Decorative Arts Collections. Before the new display can go on show, each piece of rare clothing (some of which are 150 - 250 years old!) will need to be conserved and have a custom-made mannequin produced.
Your support will help us make these new selections, some of which have never been exhibited before, fit for display.
Please help us make this happen and enjoy exclusive rewards in return.
