National Waterfront Museum delves into the story of Wales' industrial history.

The museum is an amalgamation of old and new, with multimedia displays being used to look into Welsh industrial and maritime heritage from the last 300 years.

Interactive exhibits explore the effect the industrial revolution has had on the country; from its people and communities to transportation systems and materials, as well as the trading relationships Wales has built with the rest of the world.

Much like the collection, the building itself is a fusion of past and present, combining a Grade II listed former dockside warehouse built in 1902 with a new glass and slate structure designed exactly a century later by Stirling Prize-winning architects Wilkinson Eyre.

Look out for The Wild Escape at museums and galleries in the next few months. Many have special events, or you can use our audio introduction to help children get involved at any cultural venue.
