One of the world's leading contemporary art awards comes to Middlesbrough featuring four shortlisted artists.
MIMA hosts the Turner Prize, the annual celebration organised by Tate that showcases new developments in contemporary British art.
Bringing together the four shortlisted artists who were chosen by a jury, visitors will encounter Simeon Barclay’s spoken-word performance exploring British identity, Kira Freije’s life-size humanoid sculptures constructed from metal and fabric, Marguerite Humeau’s ecologically driven light and sound installations, and Tanoa Sasraku’s sculptures and film investigating corporate and military histories.
