Craft Leeds presents a joyful celebration of daily life explored in linocut and woodcut printmaking by artist Hilke MacIntyre
At Craft Leeds this summer, printmaker, ceramicist and painter Hilke MacIntyre presents a colourful collection of work - a vibrant expression of wholesome storytelling.
This collection of bold, limited edition printmaking depicts scenes of gardening triumphs, holiday antics, and sunny days-out with friends, which are sure to delight viewers with relatable moments of everyday life.
From her studio on the Scottish East Coast, Hilke’s signature style is inspired by folk art and 20th century art movements. She masterfully plays with the possibilities of single and multi-block linocut or woodcut printing, occasionally combining the two to create unique inked surface texture and pattern.
Enter into the playful world of Hilke MacIntyre to be charmed by her delightful characters, and sense of awe for the natural world.
