Daisy Rickman (b. 1996) is a multidisciplinary visual artist and musician from Mousehole. Working across painting, music, film and photography, she has exhibited and performed internationally over the past decade. After periods living in Brighton, Berlin, Dorset, and London, she returned to west Cornwall in 2023 and now works from her studio in Penwith.
Alongside her visual practice, Rickman has independently released two LPs — Donsya a’n Loryow (2022) and Howl (2024) — and is currently developing new work for forthcoming exhibitions alongside her next album, Drawing From Earth To Stars.
Rickman’s paintings are expressions of devotion to the landscape of west Cornwall, deeply informed by folklore, seasonal cycles and ideas of genius loci, the protective spirit of place. Attuned to the shifting rhythms of land, sea and sky, her work explores states of connection between the human and the elemental. Recurring motifs of sun, moon, stones, sea and stars guide her compositions, creating immersive works that invite viewers to sense the particular spirit and atmosphere of Penwith.
