This thought-provoking free photography exhibition reveals the fragile beauty of the Pantanal, the world’s largest wetland.
Sprawling across Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay, the Pantanal wetland is home to a vast and unique biodiversity that includes jaguars, howler monkeys and an abundance of fish and birds. Yet this extraordinary ecosystem is now threatened by deforestation, intensive farming and climate change, all contributing to the destructive droughts and wildfires that have ravaged the wetland in recent years.
This free exhibition, showcasing the work of leading documentary photographers Lalo de Almeida and Luciano Candisani, captures both the breathtaking beauty of the Pantanal and the devastation it now faces. Featuring over 60 striking images, Water Pantanal Fire contrasts this aquatic paradise and the wildlife that flows through it with the dramatic wildfires and the desolation they leave behind.
