Painterly traces from a performance turned into a work of art.
In the Glasshouse at Jupiter Artland, Florence Peake's latest commission, To Love and To Cherish, playfully subverts traditional marriage vows through a painting on the floor created by the performance of four dancers.
Drawing on the mythology of Aphrodite, Peake explores untamed love and intimacy, transforming fleeting performance into a permanent floor painting. The artist has continued to develop the piece since its creation during the original performance, making it one of her most ambitious and immersive works to date. Visitors are invited to reflect on love, ritual and the traces we leave behind.
