Step into Candice Lin’s immersive labyrinth blending playfulness, nature and unsettling realities
Candice Lin’s new commission immerses visitors in a towering circular labyrinth of painted cardboard panels. The work combines sculpture, painting and installation to create a multisensory environment where animals, fantastical creatures and vivid textures evoke childhood and play. Cut-outs reveal hidden spaces, while surprising details, including human cadavers, introduce tension and disquiet.
Inspired by political upheaval, environmental crises and personal experience, the installation invites reflection on contemporary power, memory and vulnerability, offering a visually rich experience that challenges perceptions of safety, imagination and the boundaries between the familiar and the unsettling.
