How do humans shape the natural world – and how does it shape us?
From the ways we depend on the environment to the impact of human ambition, Human Natures explores our complex relationship with nature through themes of need, greed, desire and meaning-making.
An exhibition that invites visitors to reflect on how people and nature have always been intertwined, it brings together collections and perspectives from across the UK, encouraging fresh conversations about our place in the natural world.
Human Natures will tour to Manchester Museum, Great North Museum: Hancock, Norfolk Museums and the Horniman Museum in London. The exhibition is being created for the Museums and Galleries Network for Exhibition Touring with Art Fund support and supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
