Textile artist Pauline Caulfield blends abstraction and illusion in her striking, versatile works
Pauline Caulfield seamlessly transitions between hard-edged abstraction and illusion in her large-scale screen-printed panels, architectural interventions, and ecclesiastical works. This exhibition at Dovecot Studios showcases over 20 pieces, including fans, chasubles, and fabric panels, together illuminating Caulfield's versatile yet distinctive artistic journey.
Her exploration of freehand techniques, such as employing combs, rollers, and pigment dyes, adds a spectacular dimension to her recent works, creating captivating textural and visual effects. Caulfield studied painting at Chelsea School of Art before moving on to the textile print department at the Royal College of Art.
