Discover the correlation between gender, ecology, women's oppression and environmental degradation in this blockbuster exhibition.
Featuring around fifty international women and gender non-conforming artists, RE/SISTERS presents photography and film works from new and established artists, highlighting the systemic link between the oppression of women and the planet. Works on display explore how women resist the exploitative approach of capitalism towards the environment.
Artworks are juxtaposed with works of activism, revealing women's leading role in advocacy, often at the forefront when it comes to caring for the planet. The exhibition reflects on themes spanning extractive industries, care politics, and the global endeavour for environmental and gender justice, aiming to confront prevailing power dynamics that endanger the ecosystem.
