A quiet session created for children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
During the summer months we’re running a designated ‘quiet’ start to the day at the Museum and Art Gallery, created for children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This includes neurodivergent individuals (with or without a diagnosis!) and those who may benefit from a lower-stimulation environment, and their families.
This inclusive, sensory-considerate session will include:• Reduced visitor numbers to create a calmer atmosphere• Visual supports and clear signage• Designated quiet spaces for rest and regulation• Fidget resources available to use
There will also be open-ended, accessible craft and art activities for all abilities and interests in the Activity Room.If you’d like more information about the sensory adaptations, feel free to contact John at john@derbymuseums.orgWe warmly welcome SEND families — come as you are! All children must be supervised by an adult at all times. The Museum café will open to the public during this session.
Booking is essential due to limited capacity. Suggested donation: £3 per family
