Surviving records held at Lancashire Archives & Local History reveal fascinating insights into local inquests and tell some extraordinary, albeit tragic stories.

Opening times

The museum is open 11am - 4pm every Friday until 27 March 2026 for the winter season.

From 2 April - 15 November 2026 the museum will be open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The building is also open for our Dark History tours and lectures throughout the winter and for pre-booked school visits and pre-booked private tours.
