Make the most of your visit to our museum by learning about the histories and stories behind the collection!

Today’s Special Topics Talk will connect to our temporary exhibition, In Focus: Dame Cicely Saunders. It will provide an in-depth view into the life of Cicely Saunders, a Nightingale-Nurse turned Doctor and the founder of the modern hospice movement. The talk will serve as a brief introduction to palliative care and how it has evolved over time.

Like Florence Nightingale, Dame Cicely Saunders was a woman of wit and brains and this talk will cover the upbeat humanity of this story along with the seriousness of this important topic.

When: Friday 13th February @ 2:30pm

All Special Topics Talks are included in General Admission.

Please note: This talks contains references to end-of-life care and terminal illness. We appreciate that this is a sensitive topic and want visitors to take care of themselves.
