Explore the influences and inspirations that contributed to the artwork, and find out our guide's favourite pieces! Feel free to sketch or bring your own interpretations as our guides bring the artwork to life.

The next Slow Art Sunday will take place on Sunday 7th December, with a focus on paintings in our Renaissance to Romanticism: Painting before 1900 exhibition. Discover 'The Nativity' by Baldassarre Peruzzi and J.M.W. Turner’s The Dawn of Christianity (The Flight into Egypt) from 1841.

Meet in Art Gallery 1 at 14:00 on Sunday 7th December to join in.
