School’s out for half term – join the Story Explorers for three days of holiday skills workshops for ages 8-12!

Story Explorers: Dragons is 3 days of holiday skills workshops inspired by our Here Be Dragons exhibition.

Explore a world of myths and magical creatures with our day-long holiday workshops for ages 8-12. In expertly devised days designed with fun in mind, your children will be in safe hands in an inspiring and friendly environment, led by our experienced Learning team. Workshops run 10:00 – 16:00; book one day or multiple – the choice is yours!

Tuesday 28 October:Today we will enter the cave of dragon lore in our exhibition Here Be Dragons. We'll explore the natural history of dragons—where they came from, how they lived, and what made them roar. You will then unleash your imagination and make your own dragon puppet with storyteller and puppeteer Oliver Bishop.

Wednesday 29 October:Today we will meet the Dragons of the East, where these majestic beings are symbols of power, wisdom, and good fortune. Instead of fighting them, people honor them! Dragons are seen as protectors, bringers of rain, and even ancestors. You will take part in a fun and creative printmaking workshop with artist Viola Wang and learn how to create your very own dragon print to take home.

Thursday 30 October:Come on a quest with Rolldark in an immersive game of Dungeons and Dragons - choose your character and embark on an imaginary adventure exploring castles dungeons, treasures and dragons.
