BARBER ASSOCIATION LOOK CLUB VISIT: The Courtauld Gallery, London

15 October 2025
11.15am - 2.15pm
£15

Tour of the galleries followed by Look Club art appreciation session exploring Manet's iconic 'Bar at the Folies-Bergères'

Founded in 1932 - the same year as the Barber Institute of Fine Arts - and also a University art gallery and collection, The Courtauld holds masterpieces from medieval art through to the 21st century, with a fine collection of Old Masters and Impressionist, Post-Impressionist and 20th-century paintings by the likes of Botticelli and Rubens, Van Dyck, Monet, Manet, Renoir, Cezanne and Seurat.

It currently hosts some of the Barber's 'greatest hits' too, on display while our own galleries are closed, so you'll be able to see some familiar faces you might be missing, including Vigée Le Brun's Portrait of Countess Golovina, Monet's The Church at Varengeville and Rossetti's The Blue Bower, to name but three!

Look Club is a chance for those who love art to meet, see galleries, exhibitions and works of art together, and discuss what they like about the art they're seeing – and what they like dislike, too! It's not a lecture or seminar, and everyone's observations, ideas and opinions are valid – and encouraged!

This visit will include a guided tour of The Courtauld's Collection, as well as an art appreciation session.
