John Masefield was one of the twentieth-century's most successful writers with a career over almost seven decades. In 1913 he met Alfred Munnings and was given a painting which Masefield described as "by far the greatest art treasure that I possess". This illustrated talk will introduce Masefield, and provide some insight into his friendship with Munnings.
Dr Philip W. Errington is a bibliographer, bookseller and academic. He has written and lectured extensively on Masefield and edited numerous volumes including a selection for Penguin Classics, and the perennial favourite The Box of Delights.
