Description:
In the form of a marguerite flower with green petals made from stained ivory and yellow centre of citrine. Its form as a marguerite is probably a play on the name of the artist's daughter Margaret, who preferred stained ivory to any precious stone. The floor tiles depicted in his painting 'Sleeping Princess in the Briar Rose' are laid out in the same pattern as the petals of the brooch.
