Wooded Landscape with Herdsmen seated on a Bank near a Pool

Thomas Gainsborough, 1746–1747

Depicts many Gainsborough's early landscape themes: sunlight upon a village, compositional use of clouds. The church tower bears some resemblance to that of St Andrew's in the neighbouring hamlet of Great Cornard.
