© Richard Slee
This work resembles an oversized lightbulb or lightning globe. It is smooth, round and highly finished, so that at first glance, it resembles an industrial product. There is an ambivalence between the illusion of softness created by the rounded contours and subtlety of the artist's pastel-toned glazes and the inherent hardness of the fired ceramic material.
