Wizard's Attic toy gallery

The toy gallery is brimming with childhood nostalgia. You'll find an extensive doll collection, teddy bears, Lego and classic playthings like rocking horses and tricycles. This space even features a mock-up of a toy repair workshop and a child’s bedroom, with one half set in the 1890 and the other in the early 21st century, showcasing the evolution of children's spaces.

Lights, camera, action!

Hove played a pioneering role in the birth of cinema. The museum's film gallery delves into this fascinating history with a collection of early cinematic artefacts. See working optical toys, magic lanterns, and historic cameras. Discover trailblazing Hove filmmakers of the 1800s and 1900s, and even catch glimpses of their groundbreaking films.

A celebration of craft

The museum's renowned contemporary craft galleries feature works by nationally and internationally important makers, in a range of media. Spread over two galleries, it includes ceramics by Kate Malone, jewellery by Stephen Bottomley, and textiles by Alice Kettle. The collection also features work by pioneers of British craft, such as studio potter Bernard Leach, woodcarver David Pye and textile printers Barron and Larcher.
