Unfolding Bowl

Takeshi Yasuda, 2002

Yasuda uses porcelain rather than earthenware in his creamware range. He exploits porcelain's slow drying time by allowing it, in effect, to collapse on the wheel and then hangs the vessel upside down and stretched back and allows it to set.
