Portrait of Mary Moser
George Romney, c. 1770–1771

Mary Moser is one of the two leading British artists of the eighteenth century. She shared with her colleague and fellow Swiss Angelica Kauffmann the distinction of being one of the only female founding members of the Royal Academy in 1768. This work was acquired with assistance from the Wolfson Foundation.
