Gigantic Pumpkin

Kate Malone, 2008

This piece embodies the wonderful sense of energy and growth which the artist manages to capture in her ceramics. It is an individual studio piece and one of only two made by Kate Malone of this form and scale. Kate Malone is an established maker, who thinks beyond pure function in her ceramics. Nottingham's contemporary collecting has been based largely on smaller and more functional forms and this work brings colour, scale and a vibrancy to the collection.
