Five Set Conversation Pieces

Christine Borland, 1998

© The artist

A conceptual work made of porcelain containing bone ash. They are based on Oriental patterns adapted from traditional 19th Century English tableware but in place of the delicate cups and saucers are five skulls placed within five pelvises, laid out in a line of wall-mounted perspex boxes.
