Collection of ceramic table and ornamental ware

Unknown artist, 1775–1825

These 28 pieces of ornamental tableware all bear the mark 'W(xxx)'. There has been much debate and continuing research on the identity of the manufacturer of a range of high-quality earthenwares, stonewares, and porcelains produced during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth century which bear this mark. The manufacturer who produced these W(xxx) marked pieces was clearly an important figure in the production of ceramics during this vital stage in the history of the British pottery industry.
