Collection of Caughley porcelain
Caughley Porcelain Manufactory, c. 1780–1795
The Caughley Porcelain Manufactory was a major 18th century porcelain manufactory based in Shropshire. It was particularly well-known for its blue and white porcelain. This collection consists of a pair of Chestnut baskets (main illustration), a butter tub, a radish dish and a blue and gilt label. It includes particularly unusual items which complement Shrewsbury's existing collections of Caughley Porcelain. The Chestnut Baskets (main illustration) are exceptionally rare.
