Art Funded by you
Bellinzona from the Road to Locarno
Joseph Mallord William Turner, 1840

A castellated hill, with a town below and mountains behind, is seen at the far side of a wide and flat valley which is crossed by a bridge. In the left foreground, we can see a group of figures, in the centre a horseman, and other figures enter and cross the bridge. The effect is of morning mist and sunlight.
