A Tragedy in the North Winter Rain and Tears

Raymond Mason, 1975–1977

This work was inspired by the real-life tragedy of a mining disaster in Northern France in 1974. Mason wrote about this work, In a scene of tragedy, the unwilling actors recognise each other in their suffering. The bonds of such feeling are translated by their looks.
