A Silver Organism

Junko Mori, 2002

© Junko Mori

Organic form with long, wiggly spikes that create an upright structure with unexpected balance. Speaks of Mori's somewhat humourous approach in creating a sharp, spiky organic work using her blacksmithing skills from a traditionally soft and forgiving metal. Leads us to reconsider our preconceptions about the material and what Mori describes as the 'limited traditional techniques' employed in handling it.
