This Grade II-listed building on the edge of the Jewellery District tells the story of Birmingham's last coffin-furniture factory and the Newman Brothers firm.
The shelves and workbenches at the Newman Brothers factory are full of original stock and tools of the trade. With the original machinery working again, visitors can truly experience how this old Jewellery Quarter firm once operated on a day-to-day basis, producing some of the world’s finest coffin furniture, including the fittings for the funerals of Joseph Chamberlain, Winston Churchill and the Queen Mother.
The museum runs a public programme of events and activities, and The Gallery provides artists with flexible space for temporary exhibitions and installations inspired by the Newman Brothers factory.
