Tabley House Collection
Tabley House in Cheshire features a major Georgian art and furniture collection, including Turner and Chippendale, plus a historic estate parkland
Tabley House is a Palladian country house with an outstanding collection of paintings, furniture and decorative arts gathered by the Leicester family. Works by artists including Reynolds, Lely and Lawrence sit alongside finely made furniture by Gillow, Chippendale and Bullock.
JMW Turner commissions
Sir John Fleming Leicester was a key early patron of JMW Turner. His commissions of Tabley views led to major works including Windy Day, which is on display in the Drawing Room.
Capability Brown parkland
A 17th-century chapel adds to the historic setting, while the tearoom and surrounding Capability Brown parkland extend the visit into the wider estate landscape.
