The Salisbury Museum
With a National Art Pass you get
Housed in The King's House, a medieval Grade I listed building, the museum's designated archaeology collections include items from Stonehenge and medieval finds from Clarendon Palace, Old Sarum and Salisbury.
The history of Salisbury is also represented through displays of fine art, including Turner watercolours and paintings by Augustus John and Rex Whistler. The life and work of William Pitt-Rivers, the 'founding father of archaeology' is explored through his collection of Wessex material. The collection of ceramics and glass is outstanding, and features pieces by local manufacturers alongside those produced by the Wedgwood, Bow and Chelsea potteries. Displays of clothes worn by Salisbury's inhabitants over the past 250 years add colour and life to the city's story.
The more you see, the more we do.
The National Art Pass lets you enjoy free entry to hundreds of museums, galleries and historic places across the UK, while raising money to support them.
