RSA House combines rich history with a dynamic programme of talks, exhibitions and events in an inspiring central London setting.

Historic setting

Since 1774, the RSA has been based in John Adam Street, in elegant Georgian buildings designed by the Adam brothers. Visitors can admire the Great Room, decorated with James Barry’s vast sequence of paintings on human progress, alongside portraits by Reynolds and Gainsborough. A 2012 award-winning refurbishment preserved these historic interiors while opening up flexible spaces for exhibitions, events and gatherings.

A hub for ideas

The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce champions innovation, creativity and progress across sectors. Fellows and guest speakers share insights on sustainability, education, technology and culture, building a vibrant international community of changemakers.

Thought-provoking discussions
