Rode Hall & Gardens
With a National Art Pass you get
Rode Hall has been home to the Wilbraham family since 1669. This beautiful Georgian country house, set in extensive gardens, has a fine collection of English porcelain and portraits.
This handsome home is really two houses in one. The smaller first house, now clad in wisteria, was built 1705-7, and the substantial porticoed building was added to it in the mid 18th century. The architecture remains essentially Georgian in flavour, as lack of funds in the 19th century prevented wholesale Victorianisation.
Look out for The Wild Escape at museums and galleries in the next few months. Many have special events, or you can use our audio introduction to help children get involved at any cultural venue.
