Overlooking the River Thames in a woodland setting, Orleans House Gallery, home of the borough's Arts Service, provides art for everyone with a changing programme of historical and contemporary exhibitions.

The collection comprises over 2,400 paintings and prints dating from the 18th century to the present day. The Baroque Octagon Room was designed by James Gibbs in the early 18th century. The main gallery may be temporarily closed from spring 2016 – please see website for details.

Look out for The Wild Escape at museums and galleries in the next few months. Many have special events, or you can use our audio introduction to help children get involved at any cultural venue.

Visiting with children?

Use our audio introduction to inspire a visit to any museum, gallery or historic house local to you. Then, just send us your child’s animal artwork when it's finished and we'll add it to the epic collective artwork that launches on Earth Day 2023.
