Oriel Myrddin Gallery
With a National Art Pass you get
Carmarthenshire’s contemporary art hub, Oriel Myrddin Gallery brings both international and Welsh art, craft and design to the local community.
Championing Welsh art
Oriel Myrddin Gallery is Carmarthenshire’s publicly funded centre for contemporary visual art, craft and design. Its curators champion culturally diverse exhibitions that bring international ideas to a local audience, while foregrounding artists from Wales. Expect shows spanning textiles, ceramics, design and socially engaged practice, presented accessibly for everyone to enjoy.
Newly redeveloped
Housed in a listed Victorian former art school in central Carmarthen, the gallery underwent a major redevelopment, reopening in September 2025. The refreshed space boasts improved exhibition galleries, accessible circulation and upgraded environmental controls to support ambitious displays.
Community learning
Talks, workshops and schools projects sit alongside exhibitions, encouraging participation for all ages. The ethos is simple: make contemporary art open, engaging and relevant to everyday life.
