Extensive vehicle and object collections tell the complex story of motoring on the roads of Great Britain and beyond.
Located in the heart of the New Forest between Bournemouth and Southampton, the National Motor Museum holds over 1 million items in its vast collection, from vehicles, motoring objects and archives, to video, audio and film recordings.
Discover the birth of motoring, how vehicles became essential for commercial purposes, the record-breaking drivers who dominated motor racing and much more. In the vehicle collection elegant Edwardian cars sit side-by-side with iconic on-screen vehicles, from Mr Bean's beloved Mini to Del Boy's Reliant Regal Supervan III in Only Fools and Horses, plus vehicles predating 1905 right up to the 2010s. The museum is also home to the Shell Heritage Art Collection and the Caravan and Motorhome Club Collection.
A rolling programme of in-person and online exhibitions explore the development and social context surrounding the motorcar as it has evolved over time.
