The National Coal Mining Museum for England in Wakefield offers a unique opportunity to travel 140 metres underground down one of Britain's oldest working mines.

Join us on an adventure 140m underground into England’s last deep coal mine, talking to charismatic former-miners as they tell you about their careers. Above ground see how mining and its communities evolved, meet the ponies, explore the woods and let off steam in the adventure playground.
