Explore the history & culture of the Outer Hebrides at Museum Nan Eilean in Stornoway, home to the Lewis Chessmen.

It examines how the people of the Outer Hebrides have lived and worked from the earliest times to the present day, and how their culture is expressed through the Gaelic language.

On display are objects, photographs, prints and paintings, and archives, bringing to life the archaeology, social, domestic and economic history of the islands.
