Set within the grounds of Stratford Park, Museum in the Park tells the story of the Stroud District.
This Grade II-listed wool merchant's house is home to a collection that tells the fascinating story of the Stroud District’s rich and diverse history.
With over 4,000 objects on display from dinosaur bones to even one of the world’s first lawnmowers, there's something to spark the interest of all of visitors. The collection spans social history, geology, archaeology and more.
Museum in the Park also boasts a gift and coffee shop, alongside an art gallery showing a varied programme of exhibitions.
Another highlight is the contemporary Walled Garden, brought back to life in 2016 after 20 years of being dormant. Like a traditional walled garden there are four quarters, with a dipping pond at the centre.
Look out for The Wild Escape at museums and galleries in the next few months. Many have special events, or you can use our audio introduction to help children get involved at any cultural venue.
