Margate Caves
With a National Art Pass you get
Discover a world of mystery underground in the atmospheric Margate Caves on the Kent coast.
Once an Iron Age settlement, a working mine and now a modern visitor attraction, the caves sit on the border of Margate and Cliftonville. Comprising a community building, café, shop, exhibition spaces and an array of underground nooks and crannies, there?s plenty to explore here ? discover how the landscape, ecology and geology of the Margate area have become entwined with the town?s social and cultural history.
The caves also run an outreach programme for schools and local groups, as well as providing opportunities and training for local residents.
