A Roman temple beneath the City of London, London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE pairs ancient archaeology with contemporary art installations.

London Mithraeum Bloomberg SPACE combines a Roman temple with contemporary art.

Roman London revealed

Built above the remains of the Temple of Mithras, this site returns a key piece of Roman London to its original location in the heart of the City. Encounter reconstructed architecture, archaeological fragments and traces of everyday Roman life uncovered beneath Bloomberg’s headquarters, offering a direct link to Londinium’s earliest voices.

Contemporary art in an underground temple

The experience pairs the ancient temple with rotating contemporary art commissions inspired by the archaeology beneath. Installations respond to themes of belief, memory and urban transformation, creating a layered encounter where past and present coexist in a carefully staged underground setting.
