The focus here is on contemporary work and historical photography that sits outside of the mainstream – the gallery is dedicated to the idea of photography for everyone and have played a key role in how audiences consider photography.

Helping people to understand the world we live in, they present a programme of challenging and thought-provoking exhibitions, supporting the artists changing the landscape of photography today. Exhibitions particularly explore important socio-political issues including identity, race, gender and contemporary politics.
