Located in the attractive Museums Quarter, the Hull and East Riding Museum boasts spectacular natural history and archaeology displays.

Highlights include the only dinosaur bones discovered in East Yorkshire, the pioneering Victorian archaeologist JR Mortimer's collection from Yorkshire barrows and the massive Iron Age logboat from Hasholme. A reconstruction of a Roman town square houses a stunning group of mosaics, and medieval Hull is brought to life in galleries filled with rare survivors such as shoes and wooden bowls.
