Since 1883, Gallery Oldham has amassed one of the largest permanent collections in the north west of England and offers exhibits, events and activities for all ages.

Gallery Oldham is a free public art gallery in Greater Manchester showcasing a diverse collection and hosting a variety of exhibitions.

Diverse collection

The gallery boasts an impressive permanent collection spanning centuries. It contains thousands of natural history specimens and archaeological artefacts as well as fine and decorative art including the Lees Collection of English Watercolours. Works by Pre-Raphaelite and Victorian painters sit alongside post-war pieces including Pop Art and abstract creations. The gallery also delves into Oldham's rich social and industrial heritage through historical artefacts and thought-provoking displays.

The gallery offers a plethora of opportunities to get creative and explore your own artistic side. They host workshops and events suitable for all ages, from children's activities to adult learning programs,

Making memories

Gallery Oldham is a dementia friendly gallery and museum. The museum has a range of themed boxes available to hire by care homes and other organisations working with older people. Boxes contain museum items to help inspire marvellous memories and creative responses for those who are unable to visit the museum.
