The Fitzwilliam Museum
Cambridge's Fitzwilliam Museum boasts a world-renowned collection of over 500,000 works of art, masterpiece paintings and historical artefacts from across the world.
Founded in 1816, the museum is housed in the Grade I listed Founder's Building - an imposing temple-like structure in the Neoclassical style in central Cambridge.
From antiquity to the present day, the Fitzwilliam houses over half a million objects and works of art from around the world. See everything from ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman artefacts, to medieval illuminated manuscripts, paintings from Titian to Riley, world class prints and drawings from Turner to Hokusai, and outstanding collections of coins, ceramics, and applied arts.
The collection is complemented by a year-round programme of exhibitions and events.
