Emsworth Museum
With a National Art Pass you get
Discover maritime history, literary connections and remarkable local stories in a friendly, volunteer-run setting at Emsworth Museum.
Local heritage
Run entirely by volunteers, Emsworth Museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing the story of the town and its people. Its collections explore a range of topics, from the rise and fall of the oyster industry to the achievements of local businesses and organisations. Together, they capture the triumphs and tragedies that have shaped Emsworth’s unique character and identity.
Famous figures
The museum houses the country’s only permanent exhibition devoted to PG Wodehouse, who lived and worked in the town. Other displays celebrate acclaimed photographer Maurice Broomfield and yachtsman Peter Blake, alongside maritime artefacts and memorabilia that bring local stories vividly to life.
Year-round activities
From April to October, temporary exhibitions, talks and guided history walks take place, while off-season events ensure the museum remains lively year-round.
