Explore the Great Hall and Hogarth Stair at Barts North Wing in London, where historic art, architecture and stories bring the city's oldest hospital to life.

Evolving heritage

Barts North Wing offers a rare encounter with the Great Hall and Hogarth Stair, created in the 1730s by architect James Gibbs. Visitors can see the hospital’s evolving story through monumental interiors, detailed plasterwork by European masters, and portraits linking the site to figures from its medieval origins to the Tudor court. The restored Charter Window adds vivid colour to the hall’s rich narrative.
